The REST (Representational State Transfer) interface in provides access to lists and libraries as a relational data service. A core concept of any RESTful interface is the resource, and in SharePoint Foundation, lists and items are represented as HTTP resources that can be addressed by remote URLs.

Check whether List/Libray exists using REST API
You can filter lists by title using odata and count results.
url pattern:
http://{your_site}/_api/Web/Lists?$filter=title eq '{your_list_title}'

Nope, SP2010 has only ODATA v2.0 endopoint.

Results Limit for Expanded Field
There is no other way in Sharepoint, you have to ask for items from each list separately via ..List('')/Items :(
What you can do, is to use batch request.
