With introduction of "Modern Experience" Microsoft created the term "Classic Experience" for the look and feel of SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint 2016 sites. SharePoint 2019 is the first SharePoint on premise providing Classic Experience sites as alternative for default "Modern Experience" sites as known from SharePoint Online.
