Not really - I had to make all members able to edit the group membership. And running the workflow with elevated app permissions would make the app the owner and not the user running the workflow.
I stronly prefer to use the GUID over antything else to be absolutely sure I will never - like ever - end up having the script stop working from either user changes or microsoft changes. The list GUID is easy to find in SPD btw. just browse to the list and right click and copy.
Now that's realy odd. Your workflow is perfectly fine from what I can tell (also this is the correct way to deal with changes in selected fields only). Can you try to log the values of the two assigned to fields along with the value from the attachment field?
Does this occur on all lists? And just to state the obvious: You don't have any really long question further down the form? It will not honor line breaks so that could be the reason as well.
That's not normal behaviour. Do you have any custom masterpage layout or any CSS in the displayform of the list? It looks as if the table is set yo 100% width of the windows rather than just use whatever space it needs. It should be a simple fix to add a bit of CSS to the display form to make the table ignore any width=100% property, but if it was my I would want to know why this happens in the first place.
I would do it using a workflow and a second choice field to keep track if the status has changed or not and then simply update a normal date field. I agree calculated fields aren't of much use in this case :)
