Installing fresh SharePoint 2013 Server with SP1 onto clean Windows Server 2012 R2 language error
Although it got past the issue with the language with the updated svrsetup.dll. It does ask me for a product key. However, the MSDN subscription states the key is not required. I am guessing the key info requirement is in that svrsetup.dll.

I also had a svrsetup.dll in the updates folder. It looked like the wrong one. I redownloaded from docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/troubleshoot/… and it seems to work now. I will write this up.

Without that wssetup.dll, the installer displays the This product requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.

How to set customErrors attribute in sharepoint 2013?
That worked for me xristian. I set: <compilation batch="false" debug="true" batchTimeout="600" maxBatchSize="10000" maxBatchGeneratedFileSize="10000" /> and <customErrors mode="Off" />
