Let's imagine there is no web application to create the site collection, and you will create the site collection directly without creating a web application, In this case, Every site collection will require an Application Pool to be created !! So what's the issue, What's this mean? This means You will be restricted to create maximum 10 site ...

You should check the response headers for version number. Online would always have the latest version of SharePoint and currently, would be running the 16 version. Check this: https://sergeluca.wordpress.com/2013/01/13/can-can-you-check-the-version-of-a-sharepoint-online-or-how-can-you-know-that-your-sharepoint-online-moved-to-2013/. That way, even though ...

The OData provider for the REST API is configured to limit the number of items in a response to 100. It protects against developers inadvertently making a request that returns large result sets. If there are more items the response will contain a continuation. In a JSON response the continuation will be a property named __next. You can use $top if you ...

There are a couple of new Commands in SharePoint 2016. You can try those. $web = Get-SPWebApplication "http://sp2016 $web.SuiteNavBrandingLogoNavigationUrl ="http://google.com" $web.SuiteNavBrandingLogoTitle = "Test" $web.SuiteNavBrandingLogoUrl = "Url of the Logo" $web.SuiteNavBrandingText ="testing" $web.Update() I am not sure why your stuff is not ...

This is a pretty broad question. MS has released different development frameworks over the years. Each time, they'd say the current was better than the last (though sometimes that's been debatable). For example, you mention event handlers and add-ins. Event handlers were the recommended approach in 2010. remote event handlers were recommended in 2013, and ...

Please go into the User Profile Service Application in Central Administration. Go to Manage User Profiles. Search for the profile experiencing the issue. Modify the "Personal Site Capabilities" from the existing value to 14. Save the profile and wait a few minutes, then re-check your MySite.

Alright, got answers elsewhere. Here is an excerpt: A standard installation of SharePoint Server 2016 will only create a 14 folder and a 16 folder. There is no 15 folder in the hive (i.e. at ...\Web Server Extensions\15). The reason they did this was to not break compatibility with v15 sites. Furthermore there's no compatibility level available in 2016 (...

Expanded my 2¢ a bit from a comment I afterwards withdrew. I strongly support what @Mike2500 has said: If the reason you're creating a SharePoint app is because management told you to create a SharePoint app, I'd rethink it." Now when you have decided that an app is needed, go with the one that's intended for the product you are using (SPO: SPFx, ...

Shall we migrate directly from SP 2007 to O365 direct? Yes, you can migrate directly from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint Online, It's not like the SharePoint On-Prem where you should first upgrade to SharePoint 2010 to can upgrade to SharePoint 2013. If yes, Could you please list out various options available to migrate to O365 directly? Manually copying ...

ISERROR() takes only one parameter and returns TRUE or FALSE. It is typically used inside an IF() statement to evaluate a formula. What you probably want is something like =if(ISERROR(DATEDIF([DATE1] , [DATE2] ,"d")),"0", DATEDIF([DATE1] , [DATE2] ,"d")) In words: If the DATEDIF function returns an error, use "0", else use the result of the DATEDIF ...

An easy check for SharePoint Online or on premises would be to look at the host name. In the case of SharePoint Online, it will always be in the form of tenant.sharepoint.com. A local installation, third party hosted, or something running in Azure, it will be for all intents and purposes the same thing, an on premises installation. This then leads to how ...

Why Hybrid? Hybrid setups generally fall into two main scenarios: Hybrid is in place while working on completely migrating to SharePoint Online. This eventually results in the deprecation of the on-prem farm. There are requirements that prevent you from entirely from migrating to SharePoint Online, but you want to be able to take advantage of the services ...

SharePoint Server 2019 will ship with SPFx version 1.4.1. Vesa Juvonen, Senior Project Manager for SharePoint, mentioned this in one of the events a few days back. Since SP 2019 will have inbuilt support for modern team(not connected to O365 groups though) and communication sites, the SPFx extensions will also work here.

The requested feature has been implemented with SharePoint 2016 FeaturePack 1 which was release in November 2016. The feature is also shipped with SharePoint 2019 RTM. Steps to implement custom tiles: Check if at least FeaturePack 1 for SharePoint Server 2016 is installed (SharePoint Build 16.0.4456.1002 or above) Enable the feature via PowerShell: Enable-...

The simplest solution would be to: Go to List Settings Rating settings Set Rating Settings to 'Yes' Choose 'Star Ratings' Create / modify views to sort by using a variety of columns, including 'Ratings (0-5)' or 'Number of Ratings.' That's the easiest out-of-the-box way to do it, but let me know if it doesn't meet your requirements. If you were asking for ...

Just open the web part and Edit the Query. On the Settings tab there is an option to disable duplicate trimming. No need to export the web part.

As far as I know, the Ranked Results table are your results. In other words, by removing the Ranked Results you are eliminating the content you are trying to show. If you don't want the part to load before the query wrap the whole query like this: {? your query } SO if your query is {searchboxQuery} Content Type:Post make it {? {searchboxQuery} Content Type:...

I ended up fixing this issue. It was due to the fact that the lookup field was in a sub web and there was a bug in the PnP Core that I fixed and issued a pull request for. For anyone who stumbles on this post, the actual syntax for the List attribute should be: List="{listid:ListName}" The tokenized syntax is unique to the PnP provisioning engine, so it ...

Typically this issue occurs when you have a large amount of content for export. In this case, if you increase the RemoteTimeOut value on the exporting server will help. By default, that value is 10, but MSFT recommended to increase it up to 1 hours. here is PowerShell for it. [System.Reflection.Assembly]::Load("Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing, Version=12.0....

You must have full hybrid integration (hybrid Sites) with SharePoint Server 2016. I worked with Vlad Catrinescu yesterday to get this working. You can 'Add a tile' from the O365 Administration center and it may take 24 to 48 hours to boil back down to on-prem. You cannot directly customize it, the tiles will only come from O365. EDIT: Here's a picture.

As a short answer : Yes it's SharePoint publishing site. A SharePoint publishing site is a site that’s built using a publishing site template. A SharePoint publishing site is a site where authoring and publishing are more structured and where content management processes are enforced. Publishing sites are typically used to create enterprise intranets, ...

If you expand the field Author, you can filter it. Example: $filter=Author/Id eq 18&$expand=Author&$select=Author/Id,Title Greetings is it possible without select parameter ? No, it's not, when you expand a field you must provide the select with the output fields.

I don't think Microsoft Graph API will be available for on-premises. Microsoft graph is part of Azure infrastructure and does not know anything about your local environment. To use Graph API you need to register an App in Azure AD. With an on-premises environment you can't perform this step since you are not connected to Azure AD in any way.

SPFX web is not supported yet in SP2016 on-primise. It will be available via Feature Pack. https://rencore.com/blog/sharepoint-framework-webinar-qa-follow-part-1-sharepoint-framework Currently SharePoint Framework is available in SharePoint Online only. In the future it will be also available for SharePoint 2016 on-premises. At this moment there are ...

you actually have two different options of using ADFS for authN. You can use ADFS and WAP, where WAP is domain joined and you can use Windows AuthN. You can use ADFS and WAP where WAP is not domain joind and you can configure SharePoint to use SAML. If you go down this path you also need to be aware of the downsides to this as resolving users in people ...

On-premises does not support Visio in Office Online Server so this will not be possible. Visio Graphics Services is what can display a Visio document in the browser, however it also requires Silverlight.

Keep in mind WFM is more or less a dead-end product, so lack of updates would be expected. There is one additional CU, CU5, which is available from Description of the Cumulative Update 5 for Workflow Manager 1.0.
