In case this helps anyone. Kept on getting "A type named SP.Data.EventsListItem could not be resolved by the model. When a model is available, each type name must resolve to a valid type."
Found out my issue by checking:
I was using SP....
If I remember correctly you cannot set which wf is started, you can trigger wf when item is modified. So you should have one wf that starts, checks who is selected and then starts that specific wf this way you can avoid starting all 3 workflows.
I don't think this could be something Microsoft has in the roadmap of SharePoint Online. There is an option of using Exchange calendars on Office 365 Groups because it is integrated in fact. Office 365 Groups are much more than a simple SharePoint site and have features from Exchange.
