If you need "Connect to Outlook", you will have to use the Classic View for now. The "Connect to Outlook" is missing in new experience (modern view). The new experience is a new feature and it may take some time to improve. Click “Return to classic SharePoint” in the bottom, left corner of the page to switch to classic experiences.

There is not away to sync an outlook calendar to SharePoint, you can only sync a SharePoint Calendar to Outlook. Once synced outlook then can write to the SharePoint calendar, but the calendar has to originate in SharePoint.

You could go to the Microsoft 365 admin center->Groups, check if the group have a mailbox. Make sure the group has a mailbox. You could try to create a new Group, then add a group calendar web part in the page. See if it works.
