User Profile Synchronization Service won't start

Question

I am trying to start the User Profile Synchronization Service on Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise on premises with no luck. In the log there is the error below.
Do you know what the problem could be? Thanks

Problems with the User Profile Synchronization Service are all too common. I find that 99% of the time the issue I'm having has a solution in Spencer Harbar's article “Stuck on Starting”: Common Issues with SharePoint Server 2010 User Profile Synchronization. Another excellent resource is his article Rational Guide to implementing SharePoint Server 2010 User Profile Synchronization.

Please review both of these articles carefully and let us know how you progress.

I followed under given URL which saved lot of my time. It is a very detailed article which also provided information about the user registration on Active Directory too. Finally for me the below steps resolved the problem

Giving temporarily domain controller permission to farm service account

Cleaning cache

Get-SPServiceInstance 
$s = Get-SPServiceInstance GUID
$s.delete()

Add-SPDistributedCacheServiceInstance

Restarting
