I need to set a field from another field.

If ""Response" is not blank then set "Has Response" to Yes"

Response is a rich text box. Has Response is a yes/no.

The "Yes" in turn will trigger the rule workflow.

I'm using SharePoint Online with Power Automate/Flow and Forms.

I am an old SharePoint person who is getting into the new stuff, the above condition is easy to do in in InfoPath (It's free and what my work had, I know it's terrible) and Nintex forms and Workflow 2013.

I am looking for a solution, the simpler the better.

There are usually gaps in my position and I try not to leave something so complicated that no one can pick it up after me. I appreciate any and all help!

  • You cannot use rich text fields in calculated columns or JSON formatting.

  • I know. Which is why I'm trying to use the yes/no trigger when a field is filled out.

  • Are you using SharePoint default forms or custom forms (maybe power apps)? If using custom forms, you maybe able to update yes/no field based on rich text field value.

  • I tried to use custom forms, and there wasn't that option.
