Getting NULL from input field query when trying to validate it using Presaveaction after adding SharePoint Link to Multiple lines of text field

Question

I am trying to validate the Input and some other fields using Presaveaction function.

function presaveaction(){
if($('input[title*="FieldName"]').val().trim()){
alert('FieldName should not be left empty');
return false;
}
return true;
}

It is working fine all the scenarios except the one below.
After adding a link to the Multiple lines of text field through an above option, input and other fields are not available in the js scripts and returning null.

Any help on this?
