When editing the multiline text box in a SharePoint list, sometimes Sharepoint saves my hyperlinked words in various formats. The text box is set to "Enhanced Rich Text" and I want to keep it that way to make input easier for users. Below are some examples of what SharePoint does to my text once it's saved to the list:

Input (multiline enhanced rich text):

As it shows up on the list:

The background is blue because I selected the row in the list's view.

The link should match the input's format. Sometimes it works, but other times it doesn't. My suspicion is that the formatting may be altered depending on how users paste links into the text box, but I haven't found any documentation online that talks about it.

Is there any way to customize the Enhanced Rich Text format settings in SharePoint? Any recommendations?
