I have a document library with a Managed Metadata column. It is associated with a custom Term Set. By editing the properties of a file in the document library I can easily assign a metadata term (or tag) to the file. This seems to work great.
My issue is that I am now expecting to be able to perform a basic search using the sharepoint sites search feature. This is the field in the top left with a spyglass. My expectation is that basic searches should discover any of the terms (tags) that I enter in that field. However, the search feature does not find any of the files that I have metadata assigned.
I tried following the advice in this post: Search on Enterprise keywords or Managed metadata
Perhaps my website hasn't "crawled" yet? I'm a newbie to this I'm not sure if the crawler is enabled, how long it takes, or how to monitor it.
