We have a list form which users can use sign up to work induction sessions with. The induction session dates are stored on a separate list.

Sometimes if a user doesn't have the correct permissions, they can complete the induction sign up form without selecting an induction date - because they don't have permission to view the dates list but they do have permissions on the signup list.

How do I prevent the form from submitting if the lookup field is empty (it's already a required field, but that doesn't seem to actually make a difference).
