Dec 28, 2009 at 12:12 comment added Anders Rask ULS logs is trace logs that SharePoint write data into when executing its API's. You can set up trace levels for ULS and Event Logs individually for different categories in CA > Operations > Diagnostics Logging. Be aware though that it can affect both performance and storage if you set log levels too high. In the case of debugging a problem you can set them to Verbose and set them back to Medium afterwards.
