first of all thanks for any help that is provided.
To be clear, I'm not a sharepointSharePoint developer, but I have developed some small ASP/VB.net web pages.
Basically, prior to using sharepointSharePoint, I have developed a basic portal that pulls data (vbVB.netNet) and sends it to the ASP page which I'm using that data in javascriptJavaScript functions/API.
We are being forced to use SharepointSharePoint now and I have figured out how to run my javascriptJavaScript code within a sharepointSharePoint page, but I'm not sure how to get data from SQL Server into my javascriptJavaScript functions without pulling data via javascriptJavaScript which is a security concern.
So my question is, what is the best way to get data from SQL server or any other data source and use that data via JavascriptJavaScript client side code on a sharepointSharePoint page to run a javascriptJavaScript API like HighCharts? Also is there any way to run vbVB.netNet on sharepointSharePoint as I did with a standalone vb.net/asp.net solution?
Let me know if I can provide any more detail.
Thanks!
