On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Every election has three phases:

  1. Nomination
  2. Primary
  3. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

We have a chatroom for this election! Please join us in the 2021 SharePoint Stack Exchange Moderator Election Chat.

I would like to nominate myself as a moderator for the SharePoint StackExchange community as I visit here almost daily.

I love to answer the questions asked here, suggest people to look for the answers or ask a new question here and make sure they get the correct answers. This drives more traffic to this community.

I have also networked with many brilliant SharePoint experts here who have increased my knowledge over the years. And I'm still learning something new on this community everyday.

Some of the contributions from my side:

  • ~1.0m people reached
  • 275 helpful flags
  • 269 posts edited
  • 418 votes cast
  • 651 Answers
  • 16 Questions
  • Member for 5 years, 10 months
  • visited 1309 days, 3 consecutive

Most importantly I haven't contributed to the community for the sake of becoming a moderator, I joined the community to learn and share my experience with those in need. I don't know what powers are given to the moderators and keen to unlock those potentials.

I have answered some of the questions here:

I want to keep SharePoint StackExchange a CLEAR and STRUCTURED place to find an answer you are looking for. These are not just forums, it's a knowledgebase and without clarity and the right structure, it can become ignored and lose it's reputation.

I was the runner-up last election. My answers to candidate questions.

I'm M.Qassas, I joined this community a year ago. I know very well that helping people is a great job that we should all try.I hope to convey my humble experience as well as to learn from experts on this site.

I have nominated myself because I am in this community most of the time and I feel that I can do something that might help to keep up this great community.

StackExchange has helped me grow technically and also at so many times saved me.

I feel a sense of responsibility & gratitude towards the community which I'll like to embrace more and give more to this beloved family of mine.

I spend everyday at least an hour on the site and would be humbled if I get to be a moderator. I'll give my best to expand and make the community better.

I am a SharePoint Administrator having experience of Farm setup (MOOS 2007, SharePoint 2010, SharePoint 2013, SharePoint 2016, OWA, Project Server and OOS).
