comment Help with Sharepoint Search crawling an intranet site
In the crawl rules when I try to open the page to pass the credentials I mentioned that it hangs. I found out why. Apparently sharepoint goes to the internet to translate the page or some such. Since I am on an intranet server and restricted I get denied. It goes here [link]microsofttranslator.com/… I have no idea how to set this Forms AuthProxy page. Totally new to me. Investigating.

I tried pasting the link where I get automatically logged in in the content search list box first followed by the root link. But after the save it keeps rearranging putting the root link first. i'm also going on the assumption that it treats it in said order. I'll look at the UserAgent thing but I think I would have better luck just making login optional on the custom intranet. Everyone can read anyways I believe. Login is only for editing anyways.

comment Adding a link to the top floating navigation in 2010
Thanks. This is not exactly what I have in mind. I am trying to get a link to show up at the very top navigation in between the site actions/folder tabs and the tab that has your username. I have played with the v4 master file and try as I might I cannot get the link to show up there. Then best I have been able to do is place it to the right. Which leads me to believe I need to use a special tag to get it right. I found out that beta versions of 2010 actually had that feedback link right there. I even have the script but no idea where on the v4 master page it was placed. Ill keep at it.

I am looking at the v4.master in designer on the MasterPages root structure. I looked for "ms-gl" but could not find it. Am I in the wrong place?
