Great explanation. So, do you mean that, if i don't use if (newCommunitySite != null) before disposing the SPWeb object, the code may throw an exception again in the finally block ?

This didn't seems to make a difference......same error even after wrapping my code in SPLongOperation. Could it be some configuration differences in the environment ?

It depends on the size of data. On DEV it took around 20 min. for the same data and was not in debugging mode. I will try your suggestion and revert back.

comment Data Source in a connection-string for connecting to SQL Server in Always On Availability configuration
I am also having same understanding. But, do you have any references(may be from Microsoft), which supports what we think. If you can get that it will add weight to the answer.

No, you don't need a workflow. The eventreceiver "ItemAdding" is supposed to fire automatically whenever somebody adds an item to a list and clicks on Save button. If you set properties.Cancel=true; somewhere in the code then the item will not be saved. Else item will be saved normally.

Hmmmm....Try giving him direct access i.e. from outside the group. Check if there is nothing wrong with his AD account.

Does he gets some error ? When he tries this URL, does he gets the Login prompt ? What happens after passing correct credentials ? What browser is he using ?
