Do you need to include subwebs in warmup scripts Done a little more testing, and if i warm up one site collection that lives in the same app pool as the others, only that specific site is completely warmed up. Although, the other site collection roots don't take as long as a cold build they are not as quick as when they have been visited once. So it would seem there is merit in hitting at least the root site in a site collection, and possibly all sites (maybe not so good in large environments) |

Do you need to include subwebs in warmup scripts We have 4 site collections in one web application and it seems that each site collection likes to be warmed up individually |

When is document (word, pdf) metadata used Just to be clear I am the admin and I have installed the foxit ifilter to deal with PDFs. What i mean is that in 2007 the metadata displayed in searches came from the metadata in the list or library. In 2010 the metadata is from the document itself. |

No Double Hop on NTLM Thanks Trevor. No trust means no Kerberos. So we have the user on domain2 using NTLM. Trying to open the document, it prompts for credentials. If we dont supply (cancel x3) the document doesnt open. |

No Double Hop on NTLM Hi Trevor. When the user on domain2 enters a domain1 (AD) account they auth against the domain1 DC? So in theory a route exists to get a kerberos ticket? In this setup the firewalls between domain2 and domain1 allow all traffic. |

No Double Hop on NTLM Also, are you saying a user in domain2 can never participate in kerberos authentication to domain1? |

No Double Hop on NTLM Thanks for the feedback Per. If its not a double hop, what is the prompt for username/password when opening a document? Can it be avoided? |

No Double Hop on NTLM The site is configured for kerberos (Negotiate). |
