comment Assigning access to subfolder in Document Library
Might I suggest using extra list instead of folders. You can have all permission control, and folders are just a bad idea in SharePoint. Folders make your URLs too long and you can lose your files if you exceed 256 characters in your URL. Also, it can turn into a permissions nightmare once you start getting too many folders in the list. Plus it is harder for the search crawlers to find your stuff. Folders are so 90's man :)

comment Digital World Clock SharePoint Web Part
I have created world clocks in SharePoint before. I had to use an ASMX web service with JQuery to get the different time zones and daylight savings time differences. Look into web services.

comment Sharepoint user preview
What Browser are they using? SharePoint requires Active X controls, and (not sure what SHarePoint version you are using) as of 2010, SharePoint uses Silverlight quite a bit too. Make sure you have them install Silverlight and make sure they are using a compatible browser like IE or FireFox (if 2010, if 2007 FF causes CSS and functionality errors)

comment All Attachments Need to be Downloaded
Yes. I made a custom permission level to which they could only just look at the list item. When the attachment is opened, they can edit it and save the edit back to the attachment. I know in a Document library it will stay read-only, but I am using a custom list and would like them not to be able to open it at all. Just download.

Does not matter for attachments. They are still given the option to edit the item once opened in Word. When they save it, it saves to the attachment. I need to prevent that. I do not want to use a document library either.

comment View error on AllItems.aspx
Create a new view to query less, or more spacific items. In SP 2013, you can store 30 million records in a list. The threshold is based off of the amount of items returned in the view. You can also set you item threshold limit in Central Admin. Here is a link to the limits of SharePoint technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262787.aspx#ListLibrary

This is the right answer. I just recently had to do this myself for my company.

comment Query list in designer workflow
Try carrying over the list ID from the first list to the second. Make a new field in the second list called ItemID or whatever. Pass the ID of the first lists items to the second. Then you can use the ItemID column in the second list to connect the two seperate list items together in workflow. in you workflow setting say get this value from this list where ID = ItemID.

comment Map SharePoint List with Calender
You should be able to add and update any of your list with a site collection feature in VS to read the date on the one, and based off of your condition, update the calander event. Also, you could do this on the front-end with SPService UpdateListItem API.

comment Unable to filter on workflow column
Your secondary filter column might be the way to go. I do the same thing when I want to capture an approval status of a workflow, works great.

There might be something else going on. Like @Naim said post your code. You should use a 1 or 0 with Boolean fields.

comment how to edit the XSl style sheets to make a heading link to a site
Have you tried using a CEWP and grabbing it JQuery? You could then do an onclick function to send it where you want.

comment Workflow cannot send E-Mails, but Sharepoint can
Click the checkbox on the item which has run the workflow on the list. Click the workflow option for the list item in the ribbon, or in the drop down menu for the list item, then it should show you what workflows have run on that list item, who ran it, pass/fail and all that jazz. The workflow runs off of who the current user is, so if you are testing, log in as someone else or create a different user profile for yourself. You can manually start workflows as the System_Account though.

comment How to create an auto-updating chart from a Sharepoint list
There are several open-source JQuery charts you can get and use with SharePoint. You could either build a web part and use the CSOM or SPServices to populate the graph with the list data. You could also use a CEWP and do the same thing, but I would recommend creating a web part to handle your graphs. You can create all the custom options you want in a web part without having to change code. Including refresh rates.

Are you trying to run your workflow under the System_Account? If so, they will not run. Also, if you are triggering a workflow from an email you have to activate a feature through stsadm. Not sure if either of these are the case, but I hope this helps.

comment Design View is Gone! How Do I Modify My List Views Now?
I guess you have not looked at the code view in SPD 2013 (which one would think to be the first place to look, especially since I have done this in SPD 2010 a thousand times) all it shows is the list viewer web part information and the is it. Hence the reason for my question. I have figured it out anyways.

comment Design View is Gone! How Do I Modify My List Views Now?
@ams it is not the view, it is the calculated columns. In order to show HTML within the list, you had to modify the tags of the XSLT to allow the HTML to render. There has got to be a way to do this.
