comment How do I add a photo to a form without InfoPath?
yes you can put this at the end of your url to open the page in edit view ?ToolPaneView=2 then add your web part. I am currently doing this to 7 custom form I have made using the default I know you can do it for a fact.

No the default New/Edit/Disp/Allitems Item form. Edit that page and put the web part on top.

Right, edit the page, and put a CEWP on the top of the form, then do as instructed. It will work.

It is, also, the HTML editor in the CEWP removes all whitesapce making it difficult to make changes. At least it does in 2010 (not sure about 2013). With the external file, it also makes it easier to use it in different pages as well. You can store all of your external files in the DL and reference them to any page with the URL link in the CEWP.

+1 This is the right answer. Create flags to set from your workflows because they will always run on change if you make them.
