Here is a plnkr with your code (doesn't work) , and here is a plnkr with my suggestion. I understand you probably have something like the last one working for you, I just made a comment about your code, which is all I can see. I can't see your wiring, your setup, your angular version, your SharePoint version. I can however tell you I have several Angular-based solutions working in several SP environments

Shouldn't the ng-app attribute be ng-app="appControllers"? Also, note that$scope.year should initially be undefined

do you mind sharing the solution? If it does not alter IIS (web.config or additional module or similar) I would love to see it.

You would be breaking SOP, but you can get through that with a proxy (or hacking the web.config on the target, then use CORS), but it happens that SharePoint apps have this built in, called web proxy - so my question is; do you have apps installed?

comment REST endpoint working in SharePoint online and not in on premise
Yes that is true. One way I can think of to solve your problem is by parallel requests (yes it's not pretty, but at least you can use promises and request simultaneously, you can also get away with only two requests, one for attachments and another for lookups). Another solution is to use JSOM. We wrap our ClientContext in a promise and combine REST with JSOM fluently

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the reason it doesn't work on on-premise is because it shouldn't work. 365 is much more forgiving about OData, like you don't need odata=verbose;, probably because of early access and compatibility with already built stuff. The thing is that OData doesn't let you do wildcard select on expanded properties, and for this to work you need that. This is two levels of arrays, think about it as selecting all lists, then all items for all lists, and then selecting properties in the items - not straight forward. As you probably know, if you drop the $select it works

The XML should look like this: <Field Type="Choice" Name="ApprovalStatus" DisplayName="Approval Status"><CHOICES><CHOICE>Pending</CHOICE><CHOICE>Approved</CHOICE><CHOICE>Reject‌ed</CHOICE></CHOICES></Field>
