comment Simple way to implement cascading drop down?
You might be able to solve this by waiting. It might be coming, see this image which hints to it, ref sp2013.blogspot.no/2014/03/…

comment How do I migrate a document library (and just the documents) with PowerShell
@Jason, what I meant by extracting the .cmp-file was to use PowerShell to manually add the stuff you want from the XML file. Although if you are doing manual work you might as well just Export-csv the item data and save the files, although the cmp-file is kind of this, as it has all the data

comment How do I migrate a document library (and just the documents) with PowerShell
Extracting and importing the files with PowerShell should be straight forward. Although what you can do is to use Export-SPWeb, extract the .cmp-file (7zip works), then add the .dat-files to wherever you want (their metadata is stored in Metadata.xml

comment How to make Provider Hosted app available in another site collection?
When you say "insert into page", are you actually looking for "Client Web Part"? The app itself will just be a link to the web application of your provider hosted app

comment How to make Provider Hosted app available in another site collection?
How about just using appregnew.aspx, use same AppID as ClientID as the web app has, then just upload the app to the Site Collection? We use this on one of our sites and it does seem to work

comment Javascript on masterpage returns undefined
What returns undefined? The function FeetchURL has no return and will then always return underfined. The global variable currURL will be set asynchronously, as ctx.executeQueryAsync is asynchronous, which means in you code you can't know when it is set

comment Get Context through REST call
Beside the part about context, if you just want to query the current user you can just query against /_api/web/CurrentUser, e.g., $.get('/sites/eirik/_api/web/CurrentUser', function(d) { console.log($('Email', d).text()); });

comment Get Context through REST call
For apps when you want to use an app context with REST use SP.AppContextSite, e.g., $.get("/_api/SP.AppContextSite(@target)/web/title?@target='http://localhost/sit‌es/test'",function(d) { console.log(d); });

This is true @alexander-ulmaskulov, although I for one consider IE8 to be good enough support

comment Provider Hosted app server error
Not sure what is the best approach, perhaps something simple as logging to a file? NLog or simply System.IO.File.AppendAllText or similar. If this is null then there is something funky about the session on your deployed site. Does it have Windows auth enabled?

comment Sharepoint Hosted Permission (SP 2013)
Have you tried to set yourself as Site Collection administrator on the SPSite you try to deploy to? Also if this is for development you could try to enable the developer feature (simply Enable-SPFeature Developer -Url <SPSite url>

It might be a bit "much", but how about storing a User Profile property?
