comment Sandboxed solutions get all sharepoint lists in sitecollection
Yes I see, it's a property ParentWeb on SPWeb which will be reopened (m_parentWeb in my dissasembler). Although it seems to do this when it is null only. @PerJakobsen you got a text-book solution for this? I see how one could wrap in using for each web, and then do work inside it, and even use Event as a callback. Feel free to edit the post :)

I didn't know that. So SPList got a reference to the original SPWeb object, which will revitalize when it is called upon

For the first example you would not need the item ahead of time. For the latter you would. Choose which one to use :)

comment Possibility of creating a normal public facing website with Sharepoint Online?
A WSP would be a sandboxed solution in your case. I have played around some with this, see my testpage . This is a WSP I upload and enable on the site, if interested you can see the [source](github.com/eirikb/www.eirikb.no). Again a bit self-promoting, so just leaving this as a comment :)

Was the list template created with the same language/locale?

Does the public facing site have to be editable through the web interface, or is designer/WSP enough?

comment CAML Query for Values Not “In” (with sufficiently different title to let me post the question)
The column not being ID changes the matter. You could also build a huge CAML by nesting And and Neq, which again can be made easier through U2U CAML Builder or CodeCaml. But still manual, and quite messy.

comment Dynamically registering JavaScript from within a sandbox web part
Yes, that is basically how it works. I use it for many internal projects at work. Since you show interested I decided to upload the WSP to gh-pages on github if you like to test it out, you can find it at github.com/eirikb/sppreload/blob/gh-pages/…

If you open the video directly, do you still get the prompt? (Could it be some other asset causing it)

Is the video located outside "same origin"? (different protcol, host or port?)

The column I'm talking about is on the item, you should have access to it.

Self-promoting is bad, but I guess I can leave this as a comment at least; have you seen github.com/eirikb/sppreload ? It uses the first point you made, but it does it a bit more neatly, like taking care of dependencies, never re-re-reloading same scripts (based on names) and it supports CSS through injection

comment Display navigation from another site collection
I made my example with a simple UserControl, you can add this to any delegate control, such as AdditionalPageHead, or override the search field and just pad the menu to left with CSS. I also imagine you can use the same "temporary SPWeb hack" to alter the SiteMapSource for the data source delegate as well, with your own DataSource.

It is horrible because SPContext.Current.SPWeb and HttpContext.Current is temporarily altered to be that of another SPWeb. You see I reset it with the originalRequest variable, if this is not done then every controller and code running after the controller would use wrong SPWeb. I'm not sure how horrible that is, but perhaps if there are several threads using the static properties it would cause havoc.
