comment Is it possible to programmatically add a web part to a page in a sharepoint hosted app (JS)
Nice answer (+1). Perhaps send in context and web, since you would need to call set_webRequestExecutorFactory? Also, I tried to do this with REST earlier before your post, but I wasn't able to call addWebPart, I just got 404, any idea why? (importWebPart worked fine, at least I got some kind of reply)

@CameronVerhelst that answer is csom, not jsom. And, for what it is worth, missing the auth, but could probably be converted to jsom. This might be interesting though: sharepoint.stackexchange.com/a/86569/627

If you give access to the library that holds the web part page, then you could probably edit it through jsom, and then add web part. Heh, if you could do that you could actually edit the iframe tag that holds your app, and through html5 (sandbox allow attribute) give full access, which renders the DNS-solution for cross origin lockdown useless.. so perhaps not

comment Register Javascript For Document Library
If you want JavaScript on your forms you could hack them in by adding a content editor web part directly to the form (they are web part pages). Just open a newform or editform then click Edit. This is a bit fragile and odd, but it works if you just want to "throw something in there". You question is a bit vague to know though

I think that depends if you are sitting on the server or not, with PowerShell you might want to use remote powershell, and then it will probably have the same speed, but without the ability to print information about progress pr. file.

comment How to pass and return value in SharePoint 2013 REST
Is the problem actually that you define a success function outside of the closure where you do the query? Such as this could fix that: var id='derp';$.ajax({success:function(){$(id)})

If web was null in OPs code, wouldn't this code have the same problem when calling web.Site?

comment Auto populating a text box based on listbox selected value and drop down value javascript sharepoint
I don't think comment is a good place to dump code, please use a pastebin such as gist.github.com . I can't derive anything from your dump either, only more proof that you have a select element, and as long as each option has value my code should work. You could extract the exact HTML and append it to the fiddle

By list box I would suspect <select><option></option></select>, like jsfiddle.net/HZ3fB
