comment Powershell to install Farm solutions (wsp)
@NachiketKamat technically yes, it should only be available to web application you deploy it to according to documentations, but in real NO you will see the feature available for activation across all web applications.

@NachiketKamat in your feature.xml, change feature's scope to WebApplication from Farm. msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ms436075.aspx

comment Facebook-like notifications when new item is added to certain list/library?
@Magali The site you get redirected to is "My Host Site Collection", because site collection isn't publishing site, it will not display managed metadata navigation, it can be done by custom master page, but that's as you said out of scope here

comment OData Authentication without site URL
@BenShort If i understood your scenario correctly, you are trying to develop an app for office 365 store, which will be used by 100's or maybe 1000's of clients with different URLs, so as far as I know, you won't going to be able to let your client's login to there specific environment without your mobile app knowing there target url,

@WaqasSarwarMCSE solution will available in farm for every body but only one web app will see because we target it. Please provide me some reference for this statement with example :-)

@NachiketKamat and Waqas, do me a favour and develop a web application scoped feature, deploy it as a solution to a specific webapplication, now look at all other web applications, they will let you activate the feature on them, Above answer is just a logical explanation, not what happens in real... :)

@NachiketKamat If you have resources that are scoped to web application level within your solution, then they will only be added to deployed solution, but if there isn't anything there it won't going to add anything to web applications, so using web application parameter becomes useless.

You can't target web application for deploying solutions :-), when you deploy a solution, it will get deployed across farm, however you can activate features if they are scoped to web applications on a single web application or all.
