It cannot be a edit paste...this will not work; and you cannot use the seattle.master as it is and not going to work if you copy paste. As all masters in SharePoint 2013 are now rendered by html markup. So, you will need to open the directory they exists on and copy the seattle.html (template) and rename. By doing this when you use this new copied seattle.html you will get a {mycustommaster}.html and {mycustommaster}.master

Why not create a usercontrol feature and override the profile image control? Any reason why I would want to use the timer job instead of a feature install and just override the profile picture?
