Navigation Headings not showing in Global Navigation Are you adding the heading to the Global Nav or the "Current" Nav (a.k.a quick launch). Also, assuming you are adding the heading in the root site of the site collection? If you add the head to the navigation of a subsite it will only show up when you are in that subsite. |

“Detected use of SPRequest for previously closed SPWeb object” within Event receiver but no error when run in test harness What work is MyClass actually doing? My concern is that it is doing some operation that executes asynchronously. |

SharePoint 2007 Trim Permissions If you are giving them the ability to create groups you are giving them permission to manage security, period. And, there isn't an event receiver solution. I think the best route for you at this point would be to create a custom application page that gives them the functionality they need (create groups, assign users, permissions, etc), which runs with elevated privelages. You can give them a link right on the site settings page to make it a nice, neat solution. That way at least you can control what they can and can't do. |

Is it possible to compare current user to a SharePoint list/group and switch views if they belong? If by "no code" you mean no compiled code, and you are willing to roll up your sleeves an write some javascript, it can be done. Here's an msdn article that explains working with users and groups in client side script: msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh185012.aspx |

How to programmatically set the Explicit attribute of a ViewField? I didn't see that part in your code, so I thought I would ask. At any rate, I know I have updated the view xml before, but not that particular attribute. Have you looked at the SharePoint code in reflector to see what it is doing? I have found that in some cases certain attributes are completely ignored. |

Visual web part properties - override drop down list text Are you talking about a dropdown that is in the edit panel (right side of the page) or one that is rendered in the web part itself? |

Catch click event in another file That's the actual ID. It's a hidden field on every asp.net page, which stores the ID of the control that caused the postback so that server side events can fire. Note there are two preceding underscores in the ID. |
