My most recent focus is SharePoint Online Hosted Apps using JSOM, JQuery and NAPA.

We are looking for SharePoint Developers on Elance.

comment Any way to Install an (inline Host Page) Sandbox Solution Web Part via an SPO Hosted App?
Very interesting approach... we are testing the steps in that kennis blog now on NAPA.

Is #3 limited to CEWP and Script Editor Web Parts? Is it possible to create custom Web Parts with custom properties using JavaScript alone? Back when I tested NAPA about a year ago it could not be done with NAPA. If not, might it be possible to install existing (pre-developed) Custom Web Parts using SharePoint Hosted (all javascript) solution? What we are trying to do is use an SPO Hosted app to allow user installation of a custom Web Part with Custom Properties that must run on the host site and manipulate Host page DOM.

John! Regarding your updated answer we just tested this an interesting approach to the problem. It's basically a deployment utility for CEWP .. but it works! We will are chasing down how to deal with custom web part properties and if possible to use this approach to also deploy Sandbox Solution and pre-built CEWP as well - both those are separate issues. Thank You!!!

Apologize for extended discussion on this. Update - Our developers are saying this regarding the video: 1. It is impossible to create a web part with an SPO hosted App that is NOT inserted as an iframe and running on the app context/domain. 2. That the video example must be provider hosted as it has server side code.

A question about this statement you made "To create the custom web part you can write a script editor and put all of your HTML and JS into it, then export it as a .webpart file from within the UI" Is this a native feature in SPO UI? where is that export option found?

Thank You. I've got Microsoft and a Contractor discussing and trying this. We are still under the Impression webparts introduced by an SPO App will run inside an iFrame an on the App domain. We suspect this presents challenges not anticipated or faced in the video example.

One point I forgot to make is that our solution is SharePoint Hosted on SPO. We opened a Microsoft Ticket to discuss this question. Our developers are saying this is not possible without either manually adding a script editor web part to the parent Page or a Provider Hosted solution.

Thank You. Why and how? Can you identify specifically what in this solution differs from app web part we likely deployed that does not seem to load js in the context of the page?

comment how to access input element in parent from inside iframe in sharepoint
related: what are script app parts and how does Script Editor Webpart do this? are they embedded inline? Possible to develop a web part that works the same way? See my post.

I saw this video. Can somebody confirm js code referenced in the App script part can address DOM elements and URL query strings in the Parent page? We've deployed Webparts via Apps, but due to cross browser can do neither. Also those Web Parts are installed under iframes pointing to the App Domain.
