comment Add Site Page to Quick Launch by default
The Office 365 configuration, which I really, really don't understand or like, has one public site collection and x number of internal site collections. The internal have full functionality, the one public is severely hobbled. The Apps4Rent is just what you would expect: a fully-functional site collection with all the bells and whistles (Foundation-level whistles, anyway).

This is my first site collection with this hosting company, so I don't know. It is consistent across all lists.

Also, this is Foundation, so the Publishing feature isn't included. I remember Show Pages from the Publishing feature when I last worked with MOSS. Now, THAT was a decent navigation feature!

Good guess, but like I said, the Office 365 public site is severely crippled. Quick launch, Top link bar, Tree view, List templates, and a whole lot of other items aren't even included in the Site Settings page.

Never too late to join the party! Seriously, I answer old questions myself, because most of the people who benefit from them are those who Google for the same problem years later. I tried your suggestion, but it doesn't support repeating events properly. See my answer below for using a subsite, which strangely has ALL the functionality that the main site is missing, except for theme support.

comment How do I delete closed web parts from a page?
By the way, closing a web part does NOT help performance. My first SharePoint gig, we had a custom Web Part that did a SQL pull and took 5 - 10 seconds to run. I found five closed web parts on the home page, each one was still running in the background even though they were closed. I wish Microsoft would remove this "Close feature", it's the most misleading thing I've seen.

comment Prevent users from deleting webpart
Close only hides the web part, which is insidious, because it still runs in the background. I can't understand why Microsoft hasn't removed this "feature" in later versions. Your answer is correct for Close, but not for removing a web part.

Fixed. But this should be a comment, not an answer.

Are they based in the U.S.? Is there a phone number you can call for tech support, not just a double-secret help desk submission process that can't send you an email that they replied? Do they understand SharePoint better than you?

comment Clear image cache in Office 365 Public Website
I removed the keyword 'Events' from one of the pictures. I am using similar coding on different pages, each one keys off of a keyword. That way, I can assign one or more keywords to a picture to make it show in a slideshow on a specific page, without changing the code.

comment Clear image cache in Office 365 Public Website
That makes sense if it was a browser cache, but as I said in my post, the broken image remains after clearing the browser cache, AND when using different browsers and computers. The caching is at the server, which I cannot clear because this is a Office 365 public website.

I use SPServices to pull the images from the library. I updated my post to show the code.

Not available in public site for Office 365. I have images that are not visible, looking for a way to clear the cache and see if that is the problem.

What is really frustrating is that you have full capability in the "Team" site collections. So, why not in the public facing web site? In 2007 you can start with a Blank or Team website and add additional lists as you want. Why not in 2013?

Like I said, I was thinking the two site collections were the same, but they aren't. So the out of the box lists are not available in the public site collection, but third party apps ARE? That makes no sense at all.

See my answer. I can't even open the ManageFeatures.aspx page to see if Team Collaboration Lists is activated on my Website site collection.
