comment How to dump and XML file from a Workflow
Might choose the list item receiver - just wondered if a WF solution might be useful

Nintex is just a very expensive solution.

Seems like the labels gets some weird locations (newsletter in my version is a horizontal layout). Box/Boxed seemed ok but the first label was missing.... seems like I'll have to go with the DataView Webpart solution...

comment Content Query Web Part forgets that limit is not set?
Caching was not enabled on this site, could it still be server side caching issues? I'm not familiar with Fiddler etc. how would I determine if chaching is involved using that tool?

comment Content Query Web Part forgets that limit is not set?
The pages has been edited in shared view (that's what we did to remove the limit). Doesn't seem to be the cause

I thought so but the problem keeps appearing so no reboots or anything seems to help

A variation of this link solved the problem (see my Updates in the question) Therefore this will be the accepted answer.

It does, but I don't want to accept my own solution. I got some good inspiration here and want to acknowlegde that here.

<xsl:decimal-format grouping-separator="." decimal-separator="," NaN="" name="european"/> <xsl:template match="/"> Test: <xsl:copy-of select="format-number(sum(for ($i in /dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row/@Distance) { return number(replace($i, ',','.')})), '#,##', 'european')" /> Tried this, but it fails (Failed setting processor stylesheet. expected token ')' found 'NAME'.....

Does not handle negative numbers either...

comment XSLT for summing a column in a Data View Web Part
Think I might have a clue to the cause: The locale is danish and therefore e,g, 3.5 is written: 3,5. SharePoint can handle this and calculates the sum correctly, but 3,5 is not recognized as a number in the xslt... Any ideas how to fix that? (maybe a string replace in the calculation and then again in the representation of the result if possible?)

comment Show calculated results from a SharePoint list
Got a little stuck: How to write XSLT for the DVWP, so that I get the sum of values in the "Distance" column? Preferably it should be able to skip empty values. I tried using this: /dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row/@Distance as input for the sum, but that did not work... any clues?

comment Calculated value for Title field?
The title in this case is not important, serves only as a link to edit the information. As you can see with the choice of data, all information is accessible elsewhere in the list. I will filter data based on the user, but using the "Created" column, not the title.
