Got a little stuck: How to write XSLT for the DVWP, so that I get the sum of values in the "Distance" column? Preferably it should be able to skip empty values. I tried using this: /dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row/@Distance as input for the sum, but that did not work... any clues?

The title in this case is not important, serves only as a link to edit the information. As you can see with the choice of data, all information is accessible elsewhere in the list. I will filter data based on the user, but using the "Created" column, not the title.

Just to clarify: I do not want to show the list itself, I want to show some calculated data. e.g. Sum of registered distances based on the data from the data list. Any smart howto's on that? I have (from the answers) created a CQWP and it shows the list data fine, but thats not the goal...

I am aware that this is UI behaviour that the Title is mandatory. I also know that users can change the content, but it's just to give them something meaningful in the field so the don't have to write something :o)

Your assumption on the location of the list is correct :o) I have a site in the collection for data (various lists) and the some portal display pages where various data are shown, partly based on the data site etc.
