Problem installing web part using Powershell Ok, I've tried it and it throwed: "The Feature is not a Farm Level feature and is not found ina Site level defined by the Url servername:31953". I've extremely poor Sharepoint knowledge. Do I have to point to the actual Site collection instea of the SP website root url? |

How to have settings per web part instance I've ended up using SPWeb.Properties to store the connection string since I don't want to expose it to users. |

How to have settings per web part instance I guess the second option (SPWeb.Properties) is the right choice because each Sharepoint site has its associated custom database and the no matter how many instances of the webpart are inserted on the site, every one of them should connect to the same db. Anyway I'm thinking of a approach to this, I'll update the question. |

How to make new sites inherit parent site's master page automatically? I'm using the VS template 'Visual Web Part' which already includes the logic to use User Controls. |

How to make new sites inherit parent site's master page automatically? I know that this should be done in page layouts instead of master page. We decided to put the webparts on the master page because we need to be available in the whole site... or there's another way of having a web part all over the site without altering the master page? |

How to make new sites inherit parent site's master page automatically? Thank you, you're right, I should not be modifying v4.master (Sharepoint newbie here =P). Anyway, I'm not sure which is the standard web part zones in the master page. I'm adding them in the left bar (above the Document Libraries box) because of client request. Can you provide further details? Thank you |
