When searching for a user, SharePoint prompts for login for mysite Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately our users are not part of a domain, and hence we cannot push by GPO's. I've tried adding the FQDN as described in the link here, but there's no change. (I've restarted the WebClient service as well, however the KB article describes issues with WebDAV access, which I think is not the case here). |

When searching for a user, SharePoint prompts for login for mysite I think not. I'm looking for an easier way, since we will not succeed in getting all our users to follow the cumbersome way. |

Target Audiences in List View display as GUIDs No, my status is the same. As Lisa points out below, the workaround is to avoid targeting the first item in the view. We are on SP1 now, but I have not had the chance to test this again. Sounds like you did, with no luck, though. |

SP2010 standard search and synonyms Thanks, that reference clears things. I can see there's a workaround in appending to the thesaurus files. Not sure whether I'm going to do that, though. Maybe its better to just stick with a "classic" Keywords column, and just remind our editors to enter all likely synonyms themselves. Would have been easier though, if we could manage the synonyms centrally and have the search engine use the synonyms entered in Term Store directly. That's what I expected. (Lesson learned: Stop expecting things!) |

Target Audiences in List View display as GUIDs Thanks, Lisa. You're absolutely right. In my setup, targeting the first list item also messes up the display. We're not on SP1 yet. Don't know whether this is something that SP1 fixes. (marked as answer, since this is as close as we can get, IMO). |

Email validation in SharePoint 2010 Yes, of course - as Marc points out below - the built-in validation. I just tried it; a validation formula like =SEARCH(".",[Email],(SEARCH("@",[Email],1))+2)>0 will check for the "@" and the ".". However, in my setup, my custom error message when the validation fails does not display. SP just displays a standard validation message. Not sure why yet. So UX-wise, this is not the best, so far. |
