Blog Subsite giving 401 UNAUTHORIZED Message FWIW I have managed a farm with 1000 + site collections and a dozen or so Web apps available over SSL and have never had to manually alter that tab so it may be a AAM issue. We have gone off on a tangent from the OPs question though :-) |

Blog Subsite giving 401 UNAUTHORIZED Message I'm not sure that's correct - my understanding it that the public site tab is for distinct host names and IP addresses. The examples above are "Paths" in my opinion. In any case the OP didn't mention a proxy server. |

Securing SharePoint for External Access +1 for mentioning SSL. It almost goes without saying... but not quite! :-) |

How strictly is Client Object Model functionality Security Trimmed & Person (User) object resolution? If you were able to elevate using the Client OM that would represent a very serious security flaw. Security works, as you would expect from an enterprise ready product. |

Move content DB MOSS 2007 In a word, "No" answers your first question. The only way of reducing space would be to remove content or shrink the DB log files. This link describes how to view the DB recovery mode - msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189272(v=sql.105).aspx. Make sure you thoroughly review the considerations prior to changing it as it may impact your recovery point objectives. |
