comment Document Library throws NullReferceException everytime I try to grab an item
In debug mode, when I look at the tlList properties, almost every single field has a "NullReferenceException" in it. The only one that has an actual value is ItemCount

comment Document Library throws NullReferceException everytime I try to grab an item
I just tried this and received the same warning. My code looked like: SPQuery q = new SPQuery(); q.RowLimit = 1; q.Query = "<OrderBy><FieldRef Ascending='False' Name='Name' /></OrderBy>"; SPListItemCollection col = tlLibrary.GetItems(q); string name = col[0]["Name"].ToString(); Name is a field in the document library

There are no folders in the document library. I have even tried to grab item[0] or item[1] also with no luck

I understand it might not be unique across farms, but do you know if ever user in that farm will have an ID regardless if they are a member of the farm or just member of a group that belongs to the farm?

It is not selected. I would like to do this programmatically using C# if possible. Do you know how to set Allow multiple selections to Yes using C#?

Could you give me a small example of how to add a new field in the Elements.xml file? I couldn't figure out the correct syntax and the codeplex project couldn't load an assembly properly. Thanks again for all your help Laurie :) Also, was I correct in incrementing the Version as well as the EndVersion numbers so that they go up by one each time I re-package and that they should always be equal?

Thank you for your reponse Laurie. I am very new to SharePoint and tried to implement this xml but it doesn't seem to be working. Every time I package my solution, I increment Version and EndVersion by 1 so they match. Is this correct? I also made a few column name changes in the Schema.xml file but I do not see these changes after running Update-SPSolution. Do I need to make the changes in the AdditionalFields/Elements.xml file? Because I currently have that line commented out. And what do you mean by needing code to execute an actual upgrade on the feature? Thanks!
