document.ready() means your entire document has loaded and ready to be parsed, so it is hard to believe if divs are created after that. Try putting some alerts and use browser debugging tools.

I misunderstood the question, thinking if query ever worked. I believe underlying error message is more do with permissions than anything else. Why don't you try SPSite constructor, which receives system account user token SPUserToken from new but existing site collection object SPSite site = new SPSite("http://sharepoint1"); SPUserToken systoken = site.SystemAccount.UserToken;
