comment Access Services - can't get it working and I've installed everything FIVE TIMES
yes, that's the article I've been working from.. but I think that I was working on an older version of that article, it looks updated. One of these days when I got a spare week, I'll try to look back into it, thanks for the info! Any pointers to share!?!?!

yes, I've definitely started that web service, tried creating Access services 2013.. and got nothing but 'an unexpected error has occurred'

logging on as farm admin told me that I can't use the system account...

started the services. tried, and still got the same error from the Access side. I rebooted, tried again, got the same error again.. and now I pull up the application pools and this 'sharepoint web services root' service wasn't running, drove me crazy.. If I start a service, isn't it supposed to remember that setting the next time that the PC/IIS restarts?

I've done this 'Configure Isolated App Domain' powershell script, and I'm looking through those errors now.

Note: I was originally working off of this document (which, being from August is probably based on a beta) blogs.msdn.com/b/kaevans/archive/2012/08/30/… But I'm definitely NOT doing this part yet: 'Configure Isolated App Domain'.. sorry, let me do that part and then re-test. I just don't think that made it into this build :(

re: I've noticed the claims user you're logged in as is not the same as the Windows Identity you're logged in as but there is no identity in the HttpContext: Uh.. I'm going through this tutorial 'configure the secure store service in sharepoint 2013', and I setup a secure store app.. and then something about 'set credentials for a target application'.. and I'm doing something where I'm mapping two fields 'Windows Username' and 'Windows Password'- I guess I don't understand enough about what I'm REALLY supposed to do there.

thanks, I'll definitely research. I was going to setup ODBC logging in IIS in order to start looking into some of those web service errors, that was my next step.. Will keep you in the loop on my progress, thanks!
