comment Need way to keep historical data in lists that uses site column
I inherited all these lists so I was not involved with their initial creation. I think using a person/group lookup might be the way to go for new lists but the problem I foresee with current list is with people that have already left the company. SharePoint will no longer have their name as a person record to put in SharePoint groups so I would not be able to convert the old lists with historical names of people that left the company. Great idea and I may need to do that with new lists going forward.

comment Can text in a lookup column be displayed as text with no link?
Thanks for replying. I was inadvertently using option 1 you suggested yet the outcome is still clickable for some reason. For option two I am assuming it's a CEWP with some code but I don't have a clue about jquery/javascript so any help would be appreciated. This is more of a want then a need. Someone asked me about making this unclickable so I am researching it.

comment Getting Error Access Denied when creating Filtered Lookup in SP2007 List
After a google search this is most likely related to a persmissions issue though based on the link below it might be specific to a add-on that was used: filteredlookup.codeplex.com/discussions/51296 States adding people to "Site Collection Admin" group, tweaking some code, and possible adding permissions to the individual user. I will pass this along to my people but any additional advice is still welcomed.

comment Is there a way to find if a column name is in more then one SharePoint list?
Turns out SharePoint admins agree that it would be quicker to just open up each list and check for the field name.

I think opening each list is going to be quicker, but as the number of lists grow the more tedious this will become. I sent the email off to the admins we shall see what they tell me.

I will mention all the ideas in this thread to my SharePoint admins. May not get response for a few days or more.
