comment Lists web service globalization
Maybe it's better to fetch server locale first, and act according to it (e.g., server returns en-US but your app in the Finnish - you just format it back and forth on a client side)?

Have you found solution for your issue? I have similar problem: when I fetch Fields with Lists.asmx#GetList all DisplayNames are in en-US locale. How can I switch to other one?

comment Sorting direction: Views.GetView method
By experimenting with GetView I've found out that GetView returns Ascending property but: only if it's FALSE (for SP Server 2010) and always for Office365 (SP Server Online). Thanks a lot for pointing out to GetViewHtml method!

Yes, maxRequestLength="51200" in web.config, so it equals to 50MB.

comment ViewFields: additional fields
Thanks again. It looks like FromBaseType="TRUE" will opt out all mandatory fields like Modified, Created, etc. Also, you can use static name "Author", instead "Created_x0020_By" to see who created the item. I will filter by hidden==true.

comment What does the GetListItems query option IncludeMandatoryColumns do?
@KitMenke can it be defined in core content-type? I found only 2 fields in Item content-type, but when you create a new View from SP admin page, there is 15 available. Where did they get it?

comment Problem using viewFields to return more fields
Thanks! And why some fields doesn't return at all? For example 'ContentTypeId' adds additional field to z:row, but '_HasCopyDestinations' doesn't.

comment How can I upload a file to a Sharepoint Document Library through SOAP web services using Java?
How to upload a large document to SharePoint from mobile device (where it is not enough RAM to store whole "fileBytes")? Is it possible to divide the fileBytes on parts?

@PirateEric, is it true that if I complete all workflow tasks (with AlterToDo) the workflow will finish? (Automatically, without my intervention).

comment iOS: implement SharePoint Designer (Workflows only) functionality
Thanks @SteveB. While researching I've found that Visio Services is kind of Lite version of SP Designer. Is it possible to open SP Designer in a browser on iOS? If so, it isn't necessary to write Designer-like iOS-client and deal with services to work with workflows.

comment iOS: implement SharePoint Designer (Workflows only) functionality
Thank you rjcup3 @PirateEric! I need to implement basic operations: create, initialize, edit and finish workflows. Is it possible via Services (custom maybe)? Or is it better to do that via browser (link to Designer Online, if it is exists)?

@SteveB we expect to use SP2010 or SP2013. This is a topic of discussion for now. Is it makes significant difference according to my question?

comment How to Connect an iOS App to SharePoint Through Office 365
Many thanks @rjcup3 ! What is the right way to communicate with Office 365: web-service calls or some Microsoft lib for iOS (that will handle the communication)?
