Modify your site-url, as I already mentioned it and have given you sufficient references. NOTE: if you need to deal with subsite just append the subsite with subsite name. Also the rest based api is always scoped at site level, and so there is no specific way other than this atleast as per docs. Also do check my modified answers again, i have even added samples. And if you dont believe my answer kindly go and check ms documentation on the above.

Let me know if this serves your problem: http://site-url/_api/web/lists/GetByTitle(‘CustomItems')/items.

comment Sharepoint list items getting auto modified
There is very high chances of this due to some custom code. Have a look at what all custom feature is installed at site collection or web application level. You should once check whether that list or site contains any custom SharePoint Designer Workflow which contains any impersonation step which might be doing this.

Well the answers to these questions is not straight forward. 1- Why you want to integrate javascript with the form. 2- If you are using javascript then you might consider SharePoint Javascript client object model.

Ok, in that case you can use http://<root>/subsite/_api/web/lists?$expand=Lists/Items.

comment How can I find out which site use JavaScript, programmatically?
To support @Mike comment, even SharePoint it self uses many javascript code and that has even increased with 2013 version of SharePoint.

you can also check the details of SPListItemCollection.GetDataTable() (msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/…). Its basically a converter.

Nope dude check DataTable class [msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/system.data.datatable.aspx]. When you execute method collListItems.GetDataTable(); it internally creates a new DataTable object and creates DataRow for all your listItems and add those rows into the DataTable. And this DataTable is returned as an object.
