comment How can I create Ctrl-F Functionality from a search field?
If you read the instructions on that plugin, it states that you need to setup a CSS class of .highlight that defines the color to be used when words are highlighted in the page. Sharepoint already has some classes you can use, so I have revised the code above to 1) use them (so you don't have to define new ones), 2) unhightlight keys words on subsequent finds and 3) enter key support. There is also an alert for debug purposes - checking that the plugin is loaded.

Just re-read your response. If no error, then insert a few alert() that check for the plugin. If that's loading, then check the jQuery version requirements for that plugin. I'll try to look at this a little closer next time I'm at a computer.

Did you load the jQuery plugin mention? What error are you seeing in the console (if any)?

Oh. Had not heard about that change. Surprising Marc has not either. FYI: you probably should stick to jQuery 1.x version. 2.x does not support older versions of IE. Remember that even if your users have a IE>8, SharePoint includes a tag on the page that tells it to "use IE 8"

Nice @vadim. I just replied to a similar post on SPServices. There is also a way to do this via the old web services. See my blog post here: paultavares.wordpress.com/2014/02/18/…

comment How can I ScrollTop in SharePoint 2010 with JQuery
I think you should be using SharePoint's built in functions that allow you to add a callback to be executed after the page loads... If you are messing with window.load() then you are also messing with SHarepoint's load functions - which are bound to the load events... Some of the methods can be found here: sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/93937/… Also: Is this really the solution to your original problem? How did you ultimately fix the problem of scrolling to a given element?

Thanks for checking @tiago. This is puzzling to me. So you were able to place a webpart outside of the s4-workspace div?

I don't know what to say. Unless I can see the HTML markup, there is not much I can do. Good lick finding a solution

I can't understand how $('html, body').animate() can be working. the OOB master page and the content of the page is not placed inside of the body tag... its inserted into an element with id of s4-workspace. I doubt you are using an OOB page or maybe there is something else on the page that has forced/inserted items into the body tag. Can you post the html markup of the page somewhere? Also, when you say that the code on your initial post works: is the Ribbon still accessible? do you get scroll bars on the browser window that spans entire height of the window - or only below the ribbon?

comment function(xdata, status) explanation - SPServices jQuery
xData and status are actually the values returned by jQuery's .ajax() method. Marc uses .ajax()'s 'complete' input parameter to then passes the data jQuery provides it. Here is the link to the jQuey ajax method: api.jquery.com/jQuery.ajax
