Can a single web part be a provider and consumer? Yes Can you do web part connections without postbacks? Sort of. You can use UpdatePanels to do partial page postbacks Can you chain web part connections? I don't think so. As far as I know there is no way to indicate the order in which connections should be processed. In the example you gave the web part ...

If you're building the software on a non-Microsoft platform, you may be able to use the dll for the Client Object Model via Mono (or an equivalent?), but I wouldn't necessarily trust it to be stable. I know Mono works best with dlls compiled through Mono. SharePoint offers a variety of web services to interface with, where you can perform a number of common ...

I think you have to trigger the new Request. My solution would be to Request __doPostBack and handle your Params via the Request properties. In your case it would be: var dates = new Array(); dates [0] = stringstart; dates [1] = stringend; __doPostBack("Button1", dates ); In the code himself these could be accessed by: Request["__EVENTARGUMENT"];

You could do this with a workflow. My suggestion would be to create a 5th calendar that is empty that the other four sit on top of. When someone adds an item to that 5th calendar, based on the values (dropdown) the workflow creates an item in the appropriate calendar and then deletes the item from the 5th calendar (so there isn't a residual duplicate).

I ran into the same situation with connected Web Parts. As far as I can tell there is no way to unselect once a selection is made the first time. What I ended up doing was creating an item in the list I was using to make the selections that was called Reset Filter. The * puts this at the top of the list and so it is always the first one selected. Not a ...

I would need to see your code to know whats going on, but looking form the example can you change: public void GetTableData(TableCallback callback) { callback(_table.Rows); } to public void GetTableData(TableCallback callback) { callback(_table); } the issue is in the provider class that is sending the data to the consumer class. The I think ...

This is assuming you are using SharePont Designer 2010; I would advise that you use the "Extract Substring from Index of String" Action. This will allow you copy the ReqID value into a custom variable, trim that variable, then use the edited variable as your filter.Some thing like the below "Copy from [Current Item:ReqID], starting at 4 (Output to ...
