We have setup full crawl everyday at 12:00AM and incremental crawl every 5 minutes.

I checked the Shared Services Administration: SharedServices1 > Search Administration > Content sources page and noticed that

  • After every 5 minutes the column of "Next Incremental Crawl" get updated but crawl itself does not happen.
  • As a result, search results does not reflect the updated content.
  • When I trigger the incremental crawl manually from the context menu, it goes fine and updates the content, as expected.
  • The same behavior is happening for Full Crawl.

Can somebody please shed some light what can be the reason of not updating the content on scheduled incremental/full crawling?

Is there any activity in the crawl log? Did you try to re-created the crawl schedule? –  AlexPoint Jul 14 '11 at 8:28

Have you tried perhaps restarting the Timer service? or calling stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs. –  Alex Clark Jul 19 '11 at 10:09
