SharePoint Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SharePoint enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have already installed almost all prerequisites for SharePoint Foundation 2010. I would like to use a SQL Server Express 2012 instance as I hear that database size limitations have been lifted from 4gb to 10gb (I might be incorrect in that assumption, still figuring this out).

I always receive the following error when installing: "This product requires Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client".

I'm guessing the answer here is just "no", but can I somehow trick SharePoint Foundations 2010 into using a SQL Server 2012 Express database?
