I wrote a custom connector. (Sharepoint foundation 2013)

I'd like to customize the following area on new/update forms:

  1. change textboxes to dropdowns (populate from WCF)
  2. field formatting
  3. field validations

Following code is the ExecuteStatic for the custom connector, would like to know if there's a similar init method I can tap into so I can do stuff at the server side, or should I use JSLink? or if there are any other approaches?

public void ExecuteStatic(IMethodInstance methodInstance, ILobSystemInstance lobSystemInstance, object[] methodSignatureArgs, IExecutionContext context)
{
    if (methodInstance.MethodInstanceType == MethodInstanceType.Creator)
    {
        // Some code
    }
}
