SharePoint Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SharePoint enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have developed a custom aspx form in Visual Studio and deployed as webpart in SharePoint 2010 then I created a page and added webpart in it...that Visual webpart has a gridview and it is inside UpdatePanel.

When I open the page and click any button inside gridview it takes long time to respond but similarly if I deploy the same pattern page in .NET application it works fine. Why AJAX is slow in SharePoint? or something is wrong with my way of doing things like creating Visual Webpart and calling in ASPX page...

Please guide...

Please use Internet Explorer's dev tools (F12) to help diagnose this. Specifically the Network tab. To get this working press start capture and then load the page. It should be able to trace the request and show you the "timings" of the events. This will help you to be able to figure out where the slowness is. –  Robert Kaucher Aug 12 '13 at 13:04
