have a look at the OpenXML SDK. See link text for examples of what you can do.

Yes, it shows how you to work with Excel spreadsheet, but do Sharepoint allow such modifications? And example how to open spreadsheet in Sharepoint would be nice. –  Andriy Shvay Nov 22 '10 at 13:56

I dig in further and found such great video that explains using of Open XML sdk and also has example of using it with SharePoint - msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/ff436082.aspx . –  Andriy Shvay Nov 26 '10 at 7:39

You could also take a look at OfficeWriter, a product from SoftArtisans. It has the ability to create and modify Excel (and Word) documents programatically. OfficeWriter is much easier to work with than the OOXML SDK. It can also interact with SharePoint 2010 (and 2007). They have information about both OfficeWriter and it's SharePoint integration on their website at http://officewriter.softartisans.com/officewriter-434.aspx.

Full Disclosure - I work at SoftArtisans.
