SharePoint Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SharePoint enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

In SharePoint 2013, I add a custom field control (using the older SharePoint 2010 BaseFieldControl style of rendering) to a content type. Then, I try to add a new item to a list using the standard SharePoint UI method.

When I click Save/OK, my control used to (in SharePoint 2010) be able to get the value of the "Title" field of the item. I suspect that due to the client-side rendering of the Title field, that its value doesn't appear in postback.

Is there any way to obtain the value in the postback within my control?
