SharePoint Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SharePoint enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm customizing a ContentByQueryWebPar instance by creating a custom itemstyle.xsl file.

In this file, I defined a custom template, with one slot :

      <xsl:if test="@DisplayedAuthor != ''">
        <xsl:value-of select="@DisplayedAuthor.SipAddress" />
      </xsl:if>

DisplayedAuthor is a user field that allows content editor to specify manually the author of a page.

I would like to render this user using the presence indicator.

I've seen the template named OuterTemplate.CallPresenceStatusIconTemplate. However, this template requires to have the @SipAddress present is the current row. Which I don't have.

What is the proper way of generating a user name with presence indicator, on any user field, in a CQWP xsl ?
