I'm creating an extranet site for clients using SharePoint 2013. Each client will have their own subsite. I'll be pushing data from a separate database to SharePoint. I was going to setup content types at the root level but wasn't clear on some things. Here are the content types and lists.
Students: StudentID FirstName LastName
Tests: TestID StudentID FirstName LastName TestDate Grade
I thought of using the default Title column for the Students content type as the StudentID. Problem with that is the title is used as the link to display the content on the list views, mobile view and lookup columns from other lists. Most students are referenced by their full name so should I use LastName, FirstName in the title? The data is read only so is more fore usability purposes than user input validation.
Once I figure out #1, do I first create the list for the students, then create a site column (lookup) for the Student that I use with the Test content type?
