I have a Sharepoint 2007 farm (one server, complete farm) installed in a domain "tp", which has two-way trust with another domain "cl" via same forest. I have configured SSP to collect users from both domains, and have verified that accounts are successfully imported into the SSP database. However, the import process from SSP into a site collection database never imports a thing from the domain "cl", while all users from domain "tp" are imported. The customer requres that automatic synchronisation from the "cl" domain into Sharepoint should work, and forbids moving the farm into the domain "cl".
I have already implemented a one-time SQL procedure that successfully grabs data from the SSP and invokes add user stored proc, namely
proc_SecAddUser, per every user not found in
UserInfo table of the affected site collection. But I would like to make the automatic sync process to both maintain updates to the users' AD data into Sharepoint, and add new users as profiles to the site, so site collection administrator would be able to assign them respective site rights.
Upgrading to SP2010 is not an option, sadly, and re-creating a site collection from scratch did not affect synchronisation of "cl" domain users' profiles, they don't appear in user list of a new site collection as available to add into site collection groups.
Please provide an advice on how and what should I change in the autosync process to ensure that users from another domain than SP farm server's domain will be fully synchronized into site collections.
